How We Do It
The Process
As a voluntary, registration-based system, Gov.I invites citizen-users to create customized profiles based on their preferences, interests, and service needs. Through their own individualized user dashboard, citizens can submit service requests, subscribe to emergency alerts, sign up for community programs, explore community event calendars, find local businesses, network with other users via social utilities, join online groups and blogs, upload audio and video files for sharing, and more.
When users create their profiles, their voluntarily submitted information becomes part of Gov.I's secure database. This enables officials to communicate with users immediately in the event of an emergency or public safety situation. And citizens don't have to worry about receiving unwanted notices, as Gov.I lets them select what additional information they want to receive – such as press releases, special event announcements, etc.
